Since 1988, the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force has been collaborating with families, doctors, hospitals, employers, and communities to make breastfeeding the cultural norm. Our founders knew that low breastfeeding rates meant higher risks of disease in mothers and babies, as well as missed opportunities for mother and child bonding and promoting family health. By engaging in a statewide effort, New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force has seen breastfeeding rates rise. But there is still more work to be done.
Together, we can improve the lives of families in New Mexico. Contact one of our local chapters to see how you can help New Mexico breastfeed.
